IT Support Specialist (Grandview)

compensation: Hourly wage dependent upon experience

Position: IT Support Specialist
Department: Information Technology

Reports to: IT Administrator


Purpose:

The IT Specialist is responsible for performing information technology systems and/or applications support for client applications, databases, computer hardware and software products, network infrastructure equipment and telecommunications software or hardware in a timely manner. The IT Specialist will diagnose and resolve low-risk problems using pre-determined methods on computer, telecommunication software and hardware, applications running in stand alone, client/server, web-based and/or network environments. This position works under close supervision and work is oriented toward productivity, skill development and development of professional judgement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Distribute Systems/LAN/WAN/PC
• Hardware Management and Support
• Network Operations
• IT Project Management
• System Software Management
• Voice Communications
• Diagnoses and resolves hardware problems
• Installs system components and peripheral hardware
• Coordinates moves, changes and minor installations
• Carries out routine debugging using pre-determined methods to resolve relatively low risk problems, reports more substantial problems to higher levels for action
• Other projects, as assigned

Qualifications:

Two years of information technology experience such as analyzing, designing, installing, maintaining or programming computer software applications, hardware, or telecommunications or network infrastructure equipment, or providing customer support in information technology.
